Building off of 2015, the area is expecting more of the same this year.
According to a recent report by The Daily Courier, the county is moving in the right direction, with the fastest growing industries those that provide a livable wage income.
Last year, retail, social assistance, and healthcare grew by six percent. This was followed by five percent growth in waste management, remediation services, administrative and support industries, and manufacturing.
When it comes to the cream of the crop, however, the article added the following:
“Industries in professional, technical, and scientific services and management of companies topped the list of fastest growing sectors with 7 and 14 percent growth, respectively.”
With approximately 80 percent of the county’s population holding a high school diploma or higher, it’s only natural for these technology sectors to experience local growth.
According to the Quarterly Census on Employment and Wages and Self-employment state statistics, more than 50 percent of the population is between the ages of 19 and 64, meaning there are plenty of working aged individuals in the area.
With all these numbers in mind, including fast growing industries and plenty of workers, Yavapai County is in position for expanded economic opportunities this year (and into the future).
While the tourism industry has always been a big player in Yavapai County, others are now beginning to catch up.
